I use windows 7 professional, it was logged into the administrator account, i tried to change the domain and after restarting i tried to log in and it says administrator account disabled, there is no other user account on this system. so now i am locked out of the system. i have tried to boot in safe mode but it takes me back to log in screen.

Thank you MilesAhead i tried your suggestion and after entering %windir%\system32\config\SAM in the load hive file name field i got this error message
Cannot load x:\windows\system32\config\SAM: the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

X: should be the boot drive(the rescue CD/USB) Try C:\Windows\system32\config\SAM

Edit: also on any of those online tutorials it is a good idea to read through the comments if there are any at the bottom of the article. Sometimes they point out mistakes or misspellings etc..
