how to delete a recover partition

    how to delete a recover partition


    i have an acer aspire 5313 laptop i deleted the other partition and installed windows 7 i left the recovery partition even though it has nothing on it and most likely it ever will since there is no way of getting to it. i did not even no that there was a recovery partiton how do i delete it with out having to put in the windows 7 disk for a second time...

    any ideas or suggestions?

    Go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management, disk management. Select the partition and delete it. You can then select your main partition and extend volume or reformat it.

    i tried that and it has no option to delete it only help option comes up.

    Post a screenshot of disk management. The partition likely houses your boot files. We can move them off there if needed.

    heres the screen shot but there is nothing in it the partition is empty?

    Alright, you can probably right click on the part with diagonal lines and choose to format it to NTFS.

    i tryed that but it wont work the only option when i right click on that comes up is help.

    i have no idea why i wont let me delete it or convert it?

    the partition is pqservice i dont use it and i want it for more hdd space is it safe to delete? i dont want to screw up my laptop.

    so what i am asking if i delete it next time will my laptop boot up and run as normal?

    Yeah, it will boot fine. The system partition is active already and doesn't need any editing or touching.

    Hi stillfreefilms

    Have you made your Acer Recovery DVD's?

    As the DATA needed to make them is in that partition.
