    ALT key randomly not working!

    Hello everyone!

I am using a regular Deluxe keyboard. For some reason, at times my ALT key stops working, then after a few hours or a few days, it starts working again.

I usually notice that when I am unable to ALT+TAB, or do CTRL+ALT+DEL or ALT+F4, etc.

It just stops working while I'm doing stuff on my computer and after a while it starts working again. Sometimes much later if at all, and I am forced to plug it out, and use a different keyboard.

The funny thing is, that after a while of using another keyboard, when I plug in the old one, the alt key works with no problems. Until the issue appears again.

I googled the problem, but what I found didn't help me much.

I didn't really bother to post about it until now.

    Thanks in advance!

If it never goes bad with the alternate keyboard then I suspect it is a hardware issue with the flaky keyboard. When the Alt key quits does the other(or Alternate) Alt key still work? Try it next time.

Yes, the alt key never goes bad on the other keyboard. The alt key and it's functions work perfectly fine.

And yes, when the alt key goes out, so does the other one.

I don't think you can fix it. Whatever processes that Alt "make code" in the bad keyboard is going in and out intermittently. For the price of keyboards these days I would chuck it.
