The BSOD is of no relevance to the present situation. Everything depends on what was done when the computer was "wiped". It can have different meanings.

She just reset it to factory settings.
That is a reasonable guess. But based on the post it is still a still a guess.
This is a technical forum and precision of meaning is important. Wrong guesses can be deadly.

Whatever, let your friend use Glary Utilities portable version (run from a pendrive so that she need not install the program on the system which may overwrite the previously existing files) and check whether the files are shown as good and not overwritten. If good she can copy the files to other media. Not to be copied to the same drive
    how to recover Sys.reg?

If she is serious about recovering the deleted files, she should forthwith stop using the system till data recovery is completed one way or the other. Otherwise that data may get overwritten and become irrecoverable.

I would suggest that working with the person using the computer would be best.

Working through someone else doesn't allow us to know what exactly what was done to the computer and in what fashion.

After that is known it would be very difficult if not impossible to work through a 2nd or 3rd party to retrieve data if their is any left.

Is their any reason that the person with the troubled computer can't join the forum?
I think it would be best.
