    Windows 7 how to set size of text in window?

    I have followed this guide to set size of fonts in windows:
    How to change or set Windows 7 default font settings to bold, italic?

    But I could not find out how to set the rest of the characters,
    see the image.

    Also how to set size of text in notepad and Wordpad? The text in notepad is too small and not bold.

    Notepad
    Format menu => font

    The trouble with setting font sizes system wide is that many of the system UI objects like dialogs and tabs are designed with the default font size as a given. To make things size up correctly requires "owner draw" painting code that is complicated to code.

    IOW the values are hard wired.

    Hi,
    Yep it's more simplistic to increase the dpi than to mess with all of the other stuff.

    For the nodepad it works quite well because it remembers the settings even when window is closed. Does exist something similar for wordpad? The format bar does not look to remember/save the last value used...

    The problem with changing dpi.... it's quite more complicated to use DPI, because I must set the value, then logout, log in, then I see it's not big enough, I must set new value, and this I repeat about 5x and then I see the Windows do not fit to screen resolution 800x600 so I must change the dpi again and reapeat these steps and the result is not good. So the only good solution is NOT CHANGE DPI, but size of characters of Window. Otherwise, I have so many troubles that I got headache and pain of eyes really. It's quite much more faster to set the Window in the way of Windows XP display settings.

    800x600 is extremely low resolution for a desktop. What size is your monitor and are you sure that's the setting you want? It might be better to go with higher resolution and play with the dpi.

    As for WordPad, there are ways to set a default font but they are convoluted and not worth it. It would be better to ditch it and use a replacement. AbiWord is excellent and simple, LibreOffice is excellent and more full-featured.
