hkcmd.exe keeps on popping up every start up

Every time I start up my laptop there's an open file security warning that keeps on appearing asking me if i want to run a certain file. This file is C:\\Windows\System32\hkcmd.exe. How can i stop this from popping up every time i turn on my laptop?

That might be Intel's hot key interceptor. You can disable it by going to: Control Panel>Intel Extreme Graphics>Hot Keys and turn it off.

But be cautious,it might be malware.

Scan your laptop with Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware to see if you have an active infection. Like unrealrage says, it might be malware, and running that executable could lead to all sorts of problems.

    https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/

    SUPERAntiSpyware - AntiAdware. AntiSpyware. AntiMalware.

    Try those and post back.

If it isn't malware, just disable the Intel hot key interceptor in msconfig. That should take care of the popup.
