Don't worry until you have an actual security which is all that is needed to start with windows
Get one at the very least MSE which is free and really no good excuse not to have one
    Panda/ Avast/........

I have antivirus installed and no viruses were found, also this delay has been happening out of the box.

Im not quite sure which ones I should and should'nt disable. Theres a couple Lenovo ones...bloatware?
Disable all of them if you want, you don't need any of those starting with windows.

It would also be nice to see msconfig/Startup programs.
Their could also be a boatload in there also.

Windows 8/8.1 doesn't have a useful msconfig startup tab, it directs you to task manager,

    Exactly....I have an update however.
I've discovered the delay doesn't happen after a fresh restart, it usually occurs after my laptop has been running for an hour or so. I haven't had the delay happen directly after I restart it, it seems to take awhile to start. Still have no clue what the cause is.

Would of been nice to know in the beginning you were using win-8 or 8.1
Any real reason you didn't ask on eightforums ?

I wondered what those different pictures were.
Derek you say they are from Windows 8, is that correct?

I'm confused. Is the troubled computer Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Yeah, they are from windows 8 and the troubled computer is a windows 8 computer.

I could see that as soon as the startup programs were posted.

    I did a double check and I'm positive I'm on the Sevenfourm.com
I will just go away from the thread and be happy.
