Need special permissions back!
I am a teacher, and my district suddenly made it so there are things I can no longer do, like add/delete programs, system restore, look at msconfig from "run" etc. I swear I'm not going to do anything bad to the computer!! But there are programs that are starting up every time i turn on my computer that slow it down a LOT, and I don't need them. I don't want to delete them because the district put them there, but would like to take it off of the startup automatic boot. Every time I try to do that, it tells me I need to be an administrator, which I am, but when I type in name/password, it tells me I would have to be "elevated"in order to gain access. I teach music, so sometimes get new software, totally safe guaranteed, and want to be able to use them. This district is enormous, so I can't just ask the schools IT guy like I could at my previous school which was small and I knew the IT person and she trusted me and gave me complete access back.
It says I have "full control" and everything is checked except special permissions, which can't be checked. It has my regular user account as owner, but when I try to take ownership to my admin account, it tells me again I need to be elevated (even though it says I can take ownership). I assume that means that I need special permissions?
I tried doing system restore so I could try to go back to before this update that took all my privileges away, but again, I need to be elevated in order to do a sys res.
I just keep running into tons of roadblocks that are preventing me from doing what I need to do!
Can you please help me?
