    Clean install of W7

I did a clean install of W7 last week. Worked fine except my W7 with SP1 didn't work so I used the original disk and did a SP1 update. Have reinstalled the programs I use and they are working good too.
I do have a few questions tho.
    1. Is Chrome a better browser than FireFox?
    2. I am not using a PW but when I start the computer I must click on the user picture icon to proceed from the Welcome screen.
    3. Another browser window opens whenever I select search, or another article in FF. If I go to Chrome instead of FF this may not be a problem.

    Hi Blockie,

I can try to answer a couple of your questions:

    1. I prefer Firefox to Chrome, because Firefox is a little less invasive. It seems to collect less user data than Chrome. Other than that it's a personal preference and I would guess that a lot of people prefer one or the other.

    2. Weird. Not sure why that's happening.

    3. You might have the setting to open new pages in a new window set in FF. Open up the options tab in FF and see if this is set that way, though it's odd that the search function does that. What search engine are you using?
