    PDF link won't open...

Newbie here.... I got Windows 7 Ultimate, When I got to a website with a link to a PDF file, all I get is a blank screen saying "no connection, page can't be displayed". It's like there isn't any internet connection to that page or file. I have googled it but I can't find anything about it. The website I'm refering to is TechRepublic. I can't go to any of their links or any other site for that matter. Need some advice here on what is going on.

    Thanks guys!!

What browser are you using? Do you have a PDR reader installed? Give me a precise link to where you are having problems, I went to techrepublic.com, and the links that I did try worked.

OK I'll try a repair. I have also found out that it is more then likely IE8. I read where others are having similar problems.

    I'll check back in tomorrow.

    Thanks guys!!

I had some issues with my Adobe Reader (version 8.7.1) with Chrome.

But I solved the problem by uninstalling Adobe Reader and installing the latest version of Reader (version 9.2). Everything works fine now.

    Just to let you know,

Foxit Reader is also a good PDF reader.

Well uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work or the repair. What does work is if I "Save Target as" then open it. Which as I said it works but it's just some unnessiary step that I have to take.

I'll keep messing with it and see. If I get a working solution I'll report back.

    Thanks guys!!
