Folder Options

In Folder Options > Advanced Settings there are 2 CheckBox I've got questions about:

1. Always show icons, never thumbnails
2. Display file icon on thumbnails

I need to know the exact behavior of the above 2 options.
I think the 1st one, is for photos for example, it just shows generic JPG icon rather than thumbnail of its photo? Right? And what else?
About 2nd one I have no any idea?
Please advise.

so, you were right about the first one, as for the second one, if you had a picture, you would see it's thumbnail (preview) and the icon for the file type in the corner, according to microsoft, it is for easier access to associated programs.

Basically, my boss wants to put things in the order of priority (EX: Drags one to the top and it will stay at the top, drag one to spot 2 it stays at spot two, etc). Since he'd have an issue with removing a file every...
