Windows 10? Yes, No or maybe!

For starters I have 6 computers on Windows 10 and 2 that are not. WHY? First Windows 10 or more like Windows 1 does not support some things that businesses may need. For example, do you have an old plotter, scanner, laser engraver that uses a parallel port? If so kiss it good bye with Windows 1 because the omnipotent wonderful professional programmers and designers of Windows 1 left out support for USB -> LPT1 cables and what about serial port items. Now folks, realize that I am talking about a $40,000.00 SCANNER! That simply will not be recycled because it is a wonderful piece of equipment. I also talked to Belkin and they said Windows 1 is new and it isn't a high priority for them and they may not provide a driver. Well, good news. And Windows 10 reverts back to a real operating system, Windows 7 easily. Don't forget to back up key things as it deletes some things you might be surprised about. And it simply says your update is ready and waiting. So that is that until they learn how to do their job. Really!

Now another computer, a Windows x32 bit 8 meg machine simply stopped running the Win 1 update at the Hello There, welcome back panel. You can enter your password to signon and it just sits there. If you keep clicking next, it abends (blows up) and after going through dry heaves takes you back to the same panel. Now to help, Windows 10 / 1 has locked the computer (in my case) so there is no going back. You have several options, you can boot with the x64 edition and repair your computer and reboot and that may take you a little further, but in my case, it still locked up. The win 10 / 1 x32 bit install disk did nothing - tried that first. You can restore an image. You can delete everything on the C: drive and reload Windows 7. Have fun with this one because even Win 10 / 1 Tech Support which I have logged over ten hours on the phone with can't help you. Now, I did have one x64 bit machine where after repairing my computer ( fixing startup) five times finally got the install to complete. Remember. since Windows display a circle going around they really mean it!

Lastly, I had to buy a completely different Wireless USB and install it in Windows because Windows was saying that it couldn't install the driver which it had installed in five other computers. And one of them has to have the Netgear A6210 pulled out and reinserted in order to work after booting up. I just love smart wiz kids who are programmers in name only!

So just out of curiosity, anyone like Windows 1? Be careful. It bites if you are not prepared!
