Will Windows 7 ever see the Post-SP1 convenience rollup?

Back in May it was reported that Microsoft would publish what they called "A convenience rollup" this summer for Post-SP1 Windows 7 to get us upto speed in 1 shot. With only about a month or so to go in the summer,it is looking less and less likely,is Windows 10 to blame? will Microsoft abandon the rollup in fear that it may cause even more Windows 7 holdouts? is a Windows 7 SP2 more attractive than Windows 10?

    Hi,
    They might just do it
It would make it a lot easier to include all of the added windows 10 stuff many of us have been rejecting,

What easier way than making a sp2

That would really be a low blow on the part of Microsoft,I hope they don't sink to that level,it's one thing to sabotage a patch, which can be superceeded or removed at a later date.. but an entire rollup/service pack? I sure hope not! I am way overdue for a clean install but my physical media is rtm,I really had high hopes for this!

They will release it. Right now, they do want to make Windows 10 more attractive, but going forward they understand that they will need to support Windows 7 just as long as they did Windows XP.

I'm sure once they turbulence clears from whatever initial issues surface from massive 10 adoption, they will reallocate the resources required to finish the convenience update.

After all this work, then Microsoft goes and puts the windows 10 updates into a rollup ?

Not saying that`s what they`d do, but that would be a real kick in the teeth.

I for one would be quite upset.

Especially with the other methods to upgrade to 10, no more updates about Windows 10 Microsoft, please.

    In my opinion.

Their is a very small chance we will see anything like a SP-2 for Windows 7.

Microsoft is not going to make Windows 7 work or look better if they can help from doing so.
The reason is simple in my opinion.

If Microsoft makes Windows 7 work or look better many will not Upgrade to Windows 10.
That is the last thing that Microsoft wants.

Too late - Windows 7 already works and looks just fine!
