C drive too small to operate effectively

    Greetings from AZ USA:
W7 64 bit professional. My C drive is full because I was too cheap when I partitioned and unable to expand.
I do have a clean 500 GB internal to use. Is it possible to move the existing C contents to the big empty drive and have reliable system. If so advise with procedure please.Thank you,

IF you have a blank 500gb drive then clone the small one to it using Macrium Reflect or similar program.

Perhaps you could post a screenshot of Disk Management as described in Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image.

You will have to adjust HDD boot order in BIOS after cloning, and also extend C partition later as the clone will be limited too (as far as I remember).

I have a feeling that the above will not work as Windows creates temp files to perform these operations, and as your disc is full they will likely fail.

If this is the case you will need to remove anything you no longer need, start with programmes, then move on to Disc cleanup, All though this might also fail because of the above.

You could also try Computer>properties>General>compress files.
