    similar as this guy's problem

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com...dts-failed-the

well it is just fated as one of those things not meant to be.

It failed but now with a more serious error. I may have caused by deleting the server instances manually when they kept failing and sucking my free space to almost zero, thanks a lot MS for making a very difficult to install program.

It is like that old saying got to know when to quit. So unless someone else can tell me how I will just quit.

    Rules report file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\120\Setup Bootstrap\Log\20150907_082208\SystemConfigurationCheck_Report.htm
For all I know, maybe only fix is wipe windows7 and reinstall, or is there a way to restore missing files?
See these missing files thoug are related to sqlserver, so then why does the sqlserver not install them?
I do have 2010 MS visual studio shell installed which was not there before, maybe getting rid of that will redo the entire installs?

Let's check the permission settings of your Windows\Temp folder...

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, run the below command and paste its output here for us.
    Code:
    icacls C:\Windows\Temp

I have uninstalled like 15 sqlserver things which took forever, now at a supposedly fresh state will try another total install
Up to the 5th instance attempt this time. Somehow it remembers all the previous attempts even though 3 are manually deleted by me.

I finally have it installed ok. The permissions problem was due to Avast!, silently blocking the attempt.
After I disabled that part of Avast, it failed cause I had manually deleted from file manager all those failed sqlserver instances.
So deleting all the related sqlserver components in uninstall programs, then redoing the setup, it succeeded.

still, there are those named instances I need to delete.
