How to get into Folder Options

    Hi All,

Just been trying to get my test copy of Win7 up and running properly. so far, I'm impressed with what MS has done with this OS, both in the visuals and in the ease of use compared to Vista, though if I can't get this problem solved, I'll have to revert back to Vista primarily, as I need to be able to see my hidden files often. This brings me to the problem... Apparently, my copy of the program doesn't allow access to the folder options control panel item, or it might not even have it there, since I can't find it anywhere... The "Folder Options" menu item exists in the organization menu, but it is always grayed out, and when I look in the control panel, it just isn't there...

Is this some shortcoming with my particular install which could be fixed by doing a system repair, or is this something currently omitted from build 7000, or neither? If if the first, or if there is a way to gain access to this item, please let me know, since if it really isn't accessible, I'll have to revert to Vista until the next build arrives... something I really want to avoid if I can.

    Thanks,
    Greg

So, what you are telling me is that I should re-install and hopefully the problem will be gone?

No, quite simply confused as to how it would be missing.

Well, after a full reinstall, I finally figured out that it was AVG 8.0 Free that removed the folder options item from my OS... With a fresh install of windows 7, the folder options were there.. then the very next item installed was AVG and it was gone.

Reinstalled again and now I'm using Avast...

    Thanks,
    Greg
