put computer to 'sleep' cause complete reboot just like you powered on

This started happening after I did updates. Every 30 minutes PC was set to go to sleep. Since I dual boot Ubuntu the PC was always running ubuntu after 30 minutes. Go away for an hour, come back and ubuntu was running.
So I tested by telling it to sleep, and it goes back to the bios and does a reboot.

I have turned it to never sleep. But I would like sleep to work.

    So what to do?

Not even sure how I fixed it. I recently ran JRT and ADWCleaner, and also when researching sleep troubleshooting there was a command that can be run to reset sleep to the defaults.
Anyhow it is sleeping and resuming again fine.
    I think it was this
    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
Power Plan - Restore Default Settings

And maybe I had malware that was interfering with the sleeping.
