Help! Pinned File Explorer Items Periodically Disappearing

I think the title is pretty much self-explanatory. This is really freaking annoying, and I swear, today it's happening every ten minutes. I have a number of non-library folder locations I use regularly, including one in the normally hidden user application data folders - namely Photoshop Presets - and I really need them to be there in my jumplists at all times.

Can you post a screenshot perhaps? Are these pinned items in Favorites, Libraries or some other place?

Ok, try Option 2 or 3 - Jump Lists - Reset and Clear All Items

Well, that's not much help. I'll have to re-pin everything. I'd like to find out why it is happening and hopefully prevent it.

Maybe you can find the problematic app via these steps:
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

If not, we might have to resort to Process Monitor or a script.

I believe I linked that tutorial after reading that a corrupt jump list repository may be causing this. Also this note from the tutorial:
On a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the Jump List of an application may disappear permanently when you use the application to open or save a new item. This issue occurs when there are 999 items in the Jump List already.
I understand your lack of enthusiasm towards such a troubleshooting. But perhaps you can try manually deleting, say, 50 entries and see if it stops at least for a little while longer.

    Just a thought.
