    Are you using the same usb port as before for the drive, and have you tried the others? Some laptops only boot off certain ports. If your drive uses two usb ports make sure both are plugged in.     I've tried multiple ports - no luck! No red flags in the Event Flag, SMART data fine!

    What have you backed with? Your best course of action at this point is probably to run a factory restore if the laptop has a partition for it atm. But before you do you definitively want to image your current system to another usb disk.

    I backed up the system using Windows Safe Mode with Networking.
