You require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this file?

Basically when I try to delete some folders, an error message pops up saying "You require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this file".

My knowledge only stretches so far so any help will be much appreciated...cheers

Hello Leroy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

What's the full path of the folders that you are trying to delete?

Taking ownership of the folders and setting permissions to "Allow" your user account "Full Control" may be able to allow you to delete them.

If not, then using the free program Unlocker may be able to allow you to delete them. :)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Worked for me, too. I've been around the world wide web trying to delete some stubborn files and Unlocker got rid of them faster than you can say, Thanks very much!

And, thanks to Shawn, "taking ownership" worked for me last night.
