Program to remove Windows 10 upgrade updates in Windows 7

I was watching this link: How to remove Windows 10 upgrade updates in Windows 7 and 8. It got too complex, too long, and it seemed to be getting off track.

I felt the fixes were a little too technical for me and my experience level. Therefore I'm starting a new thread to get suggestions for existing programs that will do this for me. There are all kinds of "fix my pc", "registry fixers", etc. What I'm looking for is responses from those who have tried these programs with a leaning toward my original problem of fixing my Win 7 so I can do updates without installing Win 10.

I thought I had tried all the suggestions on the aforementioned thread but nothing seemed to work. Finally, I tried to update one file which was an optional video driver for my specific video card. Again I got the message of downloading Win 10. I aborted and I'm looking for a better, easier fix which may cost me a little money.

First I've changed the windows update settings to what is shown on the 3rd link in your post.
Next I created a bat file from the commands listed on the second link in your post. The bat file has now completed.

Should I now reboot or try windows update again or what??? I

Did you kill the update process... from the first link ?

I haven't found any files or folders called GWX.

I went to Windows folder and didn't see folders called BT or BS.

I didn't see any files called GWX anything under Task Manager Services or Processes.

I did hide the Windows 10 upgrade under the list of optional updates.

I'm not sure I care if the Win10 icon is in the taskbar. What I really want is to be able to update my Win7 without upgrading to Win10.

Again I created the bat file with all the wusa commands. I then invoked it and have since rebooted.

My update history was missing but I was able to update my Win7 important updates. Now the important updates are done but I may have to invoke that bat file again because it wants to upgrade to Win10 when I try to update the optional files.

Has anyone else had this experience?

As long as you don`t install any updates regarding Windows 10, you`ll never get or even be asked to upgrade to windows 10.

My current list, and 5583 just popped up again today.

Your updates setting should be set like this, and of course you should be reading what every update does before you even think about installing it.

I forgot to mention remove it from Callender's list.

Microsoft is awlays trying to sneak in a duplicate windows 10 update, today when I checked for updates, 5583 was there again

Yes Microsoft tried to sneak in KB3035583 today and I'm not even from New Jersey.
