No, I think it's a bug on Microsoft's end.

Same thing does not happen when disable other Windows functions either through services or group policy editor.

Some examples would be:

Windows Anytime Upgrade

Useless in my opinion, can be disable through group policy editor and when I click the control panel item once disabled it just popups up a note that this function has been disabled. But in the case if credentials manager, I get a big RED error message once disabled.

Locations and Sensors

Can be disabled through group policy editor with no error message.


In short all the Windows functions I find useless to my configuration can be disabled without running in error messages.
