    Experiences with Windows 10 upgrade

Hi. Just wondered if anyone had tried upgrading to Windows 10 via the icon. I did it the other day and rolled back to Windows 7. I think Windows 7 is the better OS. I didn't like not being able to have control over which updates to install, didn't need half of it, didn't find it any faster, and some functions didn't work at all (Cortana and Windows App Store). I think a clean install is necessary - but decided to go back to Windows 7. Oh yes and there's no Chess Titans! Aargh - can't live without that!

Maybe I'm a fuddy duddy but I like the simplicity of Windows 7 - it does everything I want, nice to look at and I don't need apps because I have my own shortcuts set up on the bookmarks bar (weather, email and so on).

    Hi,
Did you use a outlook.com/ Hotmail/.. account as sign in otherwise none of the apps would work that you mention.

I've never upgraded but have tested win-10 soon after testing started
The second build was the best and soon went down hill from there

The only thing that started working was group policy just to get rid of all of the stuff I wasn't interested in ever using.
Best thing I saw in 10 was the recent wallpaper :)
Otherwise 10 final sits installed on a flash drive I just have never reinstalled it.
Probably won't till new years some time and take another peak

That's a good point. I opted not to have a sign in. So maybe if I'd used a microsoft account sign in the app store may have worked. I don't want to be signed into microsoft to do anything really though.
