Recycle Bin, Trash Bin, etc. fear to delete

Here's a question that has been posted probably thousands of times. Can item, files, pictures be deleted out of the recycle bin with no fear of loosing what you don't want to loose? I have hundreds of photos in my trash that I do not remember ever placing there. Vacation pictures that I don't recall deleting. This is why I have never emptied the recycle bin. Consequently there are over a thousand files there. I can see the files I intentionally put there but there are hundred more that I don't recall putting there.

Question: can I empty the recycle bin without any fear that I will delete an original image?

Emptying the Recycle Bin will delete all the items that are in it, but it will not delete files or photos that are located elsewhere on the computer.

If you have any photos in the Recycle Bin that you wish to keep you need to restore that item to it's original place. Once you have emptied the Recycle Bin all items will be deleted.

If you find items in the Recycle Bin that you want to save just Right tick on them and select Restore.

You can just make a screenshot of the files and pictures that you do not want to delete, or you can note their names in somewhere else as you don't remember the original place that you place them. So you can restore them and searh them by name on your computer and find where they are. At that time you can empty the trash without worry.

Well, I emptied the bin and I can find no problems. Most of the files there were pictures from my Lightroom program. I think that when editing is done to a photo a copy of it goes to the bin but I don't know why. Probably a question for my Lightroom forum. Having lost many pictures in the past by doing a "move" rather than "copy" I am gunshy about doing anything envolving pictures that says delete or empty.
