    Windows explorer crash - moving folder from one drive to another


    this seems to happen when i have more than one folder open on Drives like for example moving a folder over from one drive to another then Explorer crashes there have been other crashes but not sure on the scenario when it does but here is the latest crash report under event viewer / applications:

    not sure what causes this. a windows update that is corrupted, some other postings say Libreoffice. not sure

    I get this same exact crash. Multiple explorer windows, moving media files between drives. W7ProSP1. Frequency: annoyingly often (>1 per hour).

    The link in the reply above describes another error code. There appear to be a number of Explorer.exe crashes. MS's inattention seems to suggest they'd rather I upgrade to a different set of bugs.

    Here is a grab from the crash popup, with the data values that match the OP. Even the "time stamps" for Explorer and MSVCR90 are the same, which is really strange. I guess they don't really mean "time stamp".

    This bug clearly involves having multiple explorer windows open, in my case Win+-> adjusted to half-screen, and multiple monitors. There is no single operation that seems to trigger the crash.
