    Unrecognized Files In C:\


    Hello- Could someone please tell me what the Files shown in the attachment are?... I don't recognize them.

    The $WINDOWS.~BT folder holds the files to change to Windows 10.

    Thanks for the response. I absolutely have no intention of upgrading this OS to Windows 10, so does it mean that I can get rid of '$WINDOWS.~BT'?...
    I'll refer to the link regarding the other file.

    Yes, you can get rid of the $WINDOWS.~BT folder.

    I suggest that you use disk cleanup to do that.
    Locate it by searching the Start menu...
    ...but start it via right click and run as admin.

    Thanks, 'UsernameIssues'... I took care of both of them before reading this today. I set a restore point, took ownership, and deleted them. So far, no performances issues noted.
