How "important" are reccomended updates anyway? I should still install them, right?
Research each one and see if they apply to your usage.

A mishap shouldn't cause you to give up on Win 10 , judge it by does it offer things that Win 7 doesn't and do you want those features.

I tried it for 6 weeks , ran well most of the time but i didn't notice any speed gain and i hated most of it's new features. Everyones different though so to each their own.

It is beginning to irritate me. Win 10 runs okay; if they could just stop with the BS.

From Indianatone post #40, posted article.

Microsoft should be trying to sell the operating system on its merits, not trying to force it down people's throats. Its tactics in doing so will lose it a lot of goodwill, a fair few customers, and will probably increase the returns for computer criminals.
Oh where, Oh where have we seen this before.

To me the proper way to judge a product of any kind is whether consumers want to buy it and do of their own free will.
For a business the same ruler is used. Do our investments with this new product give the share holders ROI. (Return on Investment)
Does the new product make the company money is always the question and has been sense mankind has been drawing porn pictures in the sand.

I'm not being pessimistic, just a realist, judging by the thousands of years of the history of mankind doing business.

Seems to be a common "feature". In the process of updating Anti-virus programs are un-installed so they do not cause issues with upgrades. On The Register a user lost Speccy which is a system utility. It could be bugs in the re-installation of the gathered up programs or it could be a lack of space on the C drive when you have the new OS and the old one plus a load of temp files and 2 sets of program files and all the settings.

I've no doubt that Windows 10 will eventually become a worthwhile OS for those who appreciate its style, which therefore probably leaves out a fair proportion of desktop users, but it shouldn't be forced on users through underhand means such as inadequately described updates. That said, however, experienced computer users should also know better than to install a new OS less than 6 months after its launch!

I understand , during the 6 weeks i tried it i had numerous crashes and features that were not ready and full of bugs , it did run well 80% of the time . I just found it very restricted compared to Win 7 , there's way too much permanently integrated into the system and every one of those things is completely useless to me.

I won't even get into all the privacy issues .

MS clearly could care less if it is irritating to us . I think Win 10 acceptance is about 50/50 but MS will not accept that , it's 90/10 or else lol.

They fail to recognize that just because you give something away for free doesn't mean we all have to accept it and be forever grateful , accept that many computer users DO NOT like Win 10 and WILL NOT upgrade .

Thats life and it's always been that way , the funniest part to me though is that they think that forcing Win 10 on us repeatedly will work , thats just delusional thinking but i expect that out of a Co that promotes MSN lol.

Thought I would put my 2 cents worth on this Windows 10 thing. The only issues I experienced was trying to stop it from installing after someone reserved it, received it, but decided they did not want it. Microsoft spent about 15 hours dealing with it but finally got it. Another was a friend decided she did not want it after it installed (she is not very computer literate). She followed the procedure to revert it and then she was unable to get to the Internet. Not much to fix it.

Here is where I personally have an issue with the way Microsoft rolled it out. I have seen multiple computers with 7 prompted to get 10. The issue is that just because you have 7 does not mean 10 will work. Even though Microsoft's get 10 utility says its compatible. Computer manufactures do not have the drivers just yet. To be safe, it is best to visit the manufactures website and verify before installing 10.

Having said all that, I do have friends that have 10 and they love it. They have not experienced any issues. I myself will follow suit. I will leave on this note:

based on my experience, posts read on forums, and articles I have read, it seems that any new software is bound to have some kinks. We can only hope that they will get worked out in a timely fashion. Nothing in technology is perfect. I recall a person saying that he would not upgrade to new OS until they have issued SP1.
