Since the rollback driver button was faded it is safe to assume that you have not installed any driver update(s) for those two devices you found in Device Manager\Sounds; That is a good thing.I like to see if I can re-install them, but I wait for your help with that.
- Go back to those entries, and click on the uninstall button(s). To be safe you should do one at a time, but windows should be able to handle two at a time; The decision on doing one or both is yours to make.
- Say yes to any prompts asking "Do you really want to do this?".
- Then the Apply button if it is not faded, and the OK button.
- Close out Device Manager and shutdown any other open programs.
- Restart your machine.
- You should see windows asking to reinstall the drivers for those devices as it starts or shortly after it reaches your desktop. Say yes to all prompts. In some cases I've seen with driver re-installation or new hardware, windows knows you need these drivers and will install without prompts from you. Watch the re-installation process carefully, especially if you uninstall both at the same time. Make sure there are two distinct drivers; One for each device.
- Test to see if you now have sound.
