    slow pc bootup

we are having an issue with one of our users here. when we sign on, it stays stuck on welcome for quite sometime. i tried to enable verbose logging and it stays stuck at "applying user settings". i tried a clean boot (disabling all services) and it seems like it booted up quickly. i tried checking the users memory (has 8gb), i did a pc diagnostic (checked the hard drive, did a sfc /scan, checked the memory, cleaned out temp files) and everything came back ok. any ideas?

the other thing we notice is sometimes when we login to windows, it'll say welcome then the screen goes black for a bit. we can see the cursor, just a black screen then it boots to desktop

That is part of Windows 7. Mine goes black for about a second.

Uncheck all that stuff in startup except for anti-virus and then recheck boot speed. I can't recall the last time I saw that many items in startup.

All of your boxes in Startup can be unchecked. Startups are just a convenience so that the program is ready to go after bootup. It's not like they aren't going to function properly if you uncheck them. It might make the bootup quicker too.
