Boot Loop, no keyboard, error code 0xc00000e9
I'm having major issues with my Dell Inspiron 1720. It has Windows 7 Ultimate on it but hasn't been used in a year.
My cat knocked over a soft drink onto my keyboard a year ago and resulted in keys constantly going off. I have a USB keyboard so I tried to disable the regular keyboard but the issues kept happening, so I uninstalled the drivers for the oem keyboard and used the USB for a few days. After a few days the battery stopped working and the computer died when it came unplugged. Without the oem keyboard, which has the power button on it, I was unable to start the computer up and just used another. Now that screen was broken in a move and I am trying to get the inspiron back up. I found out I could boot the computer up by plugging it in without a battery.
I did this earlier and was taken to the diagnostics screen where it immediately told me that there was no keyboard. I chose to skip diagnostics and then it prompted me there was no power button. After skipping the diagnostics test (I've since ran one that showed no issues) it's tried to resume windows. After an hour of sitting on the resume screen the computer list power for a moment and died (since the battery was out). Now I'm stuck in a constant loop. I've tried everything. I no longer have the original disk, as I just moved 1000 miles and forgot it. I did try burning a iso onto a DVD, from my computer with the broken screen using TeamViewer on my phone as a mini screen. That did not work. I tried booting it from a USB, nope. I've tried system repair, but it can't fix it. I've start up repair. I've tried using the command prompt from a tutorial on this forum. I've tried reseting bios (this made my battery work for a few moments before stopping, but nothing else.)
I've tried every possible thing I can. I really don't believe it's my HDD as I bought a SSD a few months before I stopped using this computer. While searching for my iso on the usb I checked my HDD and SSD and they both seem to have everything still on them. I even pulled out my SSD (which has the OS on it) a few months ago and connected to via USB to another computer to get files off it, worked fine.
Is there anything else I can try? It really seems like the computer is incapable of booting without an actual, non usb, keyboard installed. My dilemma is I want to be sure this is the issue before spending around $50 on a replacement off eBay. I'd hate to buy it only to have wasted the money on it because it's something else.
As I typed this from my phone the computer has been sitting on a black screen with a flashing underscore in the top left corner. I'm sure it will reboot soon. Thanks to anyone who tries to help!
