Deleted files whenever I boot to Windows

    Hi guys,

I use Ubuntu 14.04 in dual boot with Windows 7. I have a separate NTFS partition for my personal files (music, photos, etc).

I have files working perfectly in Ubuntu, then I go to Windows and they are not longer there, then go back to Ubuntu and the files disappeared. Once they were in a .lost directory on Windows (after running chkdsk), but I couldn't recover much.

Is there something I could do? I think it has to do with the disk cache :c

    Thanks!

Ps. The fast-startup option is disabled

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Pretty bold dual booting and sounds like sharing a partition with files with the 2 totally different os's

I personally would suggest a old fashion dual boot with totally separate hdd's or sdd's
1 for each os using a device like this

I have only the one HD on my laptop :c

But the HD has three separated partitions: one for Windows, one for Ubuntu and one for personal data.

    Hi,
Yep I would imagine Linux and Windows are clashing as expected with a shared data partition
