Cannot access bios after microsoft tech support
Okay so this is a pretty long story. Anyways I needed C++ Redis 2015 for a program for school to work, It kept failing so I went through the trouble shoots, repairing, deleting, reinstalling, repairing all previous C++ redist versions, restarting computer etc etc Then I went to the next trouble shoot which was to update windows. It would not update even after running the update reset tool and cc cleaner and at this point I was fed up and contacted Microsoft.
After about three hours of the techie screwing around in my pc she says lets try updating to win10. I say fine as long as I can downgrade back to win7. It upgrades, windows updates are working but god win 8/10 on a non touch screen sucks. So I almost immediately switch back to win7 after confirming that windows updates are working and C++ redist 2015 would download without fail. But apparently the techie deleted my catroot folders at some point into her troubleshooting, I stopped paying attention after like 2 hours. This of course corrupted my bios. Which gave me the amazing 0000000X6 Process1_FAILURE_INITIATE BSOD
At this point I had been up like 20 hours and stopped using my brain, she recommends I get into bios and switch the boot options to my Disc Drive and reinstall windows which I knew I wasn't going to do because I have like 100 hours of school work including my dissertation and thesis and 80% of my group project on it and am not willing to lose it. And here lies the problem, after my frustration and exhaustion wore off I thought "Hey, BIOS? Oh shouldn't running my mobo installation disc fix this?" Probably right? But I guess when I moved my disc drive to the front it messed up the order of my hard drives so now when I run the mobo installation it says no OS found on HDD. This makes me think its trying to install to my D:/ and not my C:/.
So any ideas? Would getting into bios even help me at this point? Was I correct in assuming that running the mobo installation would fix the corrupted bios or did her deleting those files screw me?
This leaves me with three options I could think of.
Reinstall windows to my C:/ which I really do not want to do.
Install Windows to my D:/ which I wouldnt mind its mainly just my game drive but here's my issue. My pc is in fast boot and I could not find an option to turn it off when I finally got into bios via Mashing Delete. And now Delete isnt working because it goes to the BootMgr Missing screen. Is there a way to fix this because win7 cant install to it because it is the wrong partition.
The third option is to buy a new hard drive but I am broke and wont get paid for another day or two which is a long time to go without my desktop.
I have two hard drives a wd velociraptor, and a crappy toshiba 7200 rpm hdd which is my D:/. A gigabyte mobo, 16 gb of ram. Everything is just over a year old, not oc. I keep the case clean and cool. Its entirely me being frustrated and tired and allowing an incompetent tech destroy my computer because I was too tired to trouble shoot myself. Please tell me someone here can help me out.
