will upgrading to windows 10 break my customized HTPC?

I have a pretty heavily customized HTPC based on Kodi. The most important part I'm worried about getting broken is it auto boots into Kodi as a shell and never launches explorer.exe unless I open the task manager and run it manually. It makes for a more appliance-like interface for the HTPC and works great. I am worried that by upgrading to windows 10 it will force me back into a standard windows environment and I will have to do that all over again, not impossible just a pain. If I upgrade will it leave my current boot sequence intact?

If you`re happy with 7, leave your PC alone :)

My 360 controller broke and my wife got me an xbox one controller on black friday. And to use that wirelessly I have to have windows 10 apparently. Side note, I made a system restore image last night and went ahead with the upgrade. It worked, Kodi still boots as a shell, I had to change some settings with the auto login and the initial boot up shows the login screen for a split second but it works.
