PC will sometimes refuse to boot past BIOS
Hey, i wasn't sure what forum i should have posted this in so sorry about that.
I've had some issues recently where my PC will just randomly freeze and stay like that untill i do a force shutdown. There is no bluescreen or any form of error messages. When i try to start the PC again, it somtimes won't even get past BIOS, it will just be a blackscreen.
This has happened a few times last week, and although i haven't had any issues in the past 2 days, i thought i'd make a thread here just incase to see if anyone knows what the issue could be.
The events that led to this is as follows: I was simply browsing some youtube videos on chrome and the PC randomly froze. I waited about 15 minutes before i decided to do a force shutdown. I booted the PC up again (windows detected faulty shutdown, but i decided to start windows normally) and managed to get to the login screen, however the mouse (connected to USB) did not work. The keyboard (connected to PS/2) did work, so i logged in and about 3 minutes later the PC froze again. i rebooted my PC once again (faulty shutdown notice again, but this time it decided to use the windows repair tool), and this time when i got to the login screen, both mouse and keyboard did not work.
I force shutdown the PC once again and started it, but this time i just got a black screen. It didn't even get past BIOS. I tried rebooting a few more times, but i still only got a black screen.
I changed the USB position of the mouse (**) and waited about an hour before i tried booting the PC up again, and it was back to normal except that my steelseries engine (for my mouse) was not detecting any devices.
It makes it quite difficult for me to bugtest this myself because i have no idea what's going on. I haven't downloaded any new software recently and i haven't had any issues like this in the past (PC is around 4-5 years old). I would assume this might be some form of hardware issue, but i can't tell for sure as the PC seems to be working like it used to now.
((**) This type of freeze and blackscreen has happened once before, but instantly rebooting without changing the USB of the mouse fixed it and it worked fine again.)
