PC Fans won't sleep unless done "manaully" first!

I have an up to date Win7 64 installation on an ASUS P7P55D-E Pro MB wiht5 latest BIOS

I had noticed that when the PC entered sleep mode, the fans weren't shutting down (Although the monitor and HDDs etc did.

After flashing latest BIOS and running Windows update, the problem persisted even after some fiddling with settings in BIOS Power settings & Power Management as per previous threads.

I have now discovered through trial and error that I can invoke the fans to shut down if I select "Sleep" from the from the Start menu. Then, any subsequent system invoked sleeps also result in the fans stopping! However, if I don't manually sleep the system, the fans will also run in system invoked sleep!

Of course, I can use this work around but it would be nice to know why this is happening and how I can stop it before I loose faith and move to a Mac!

Hiyya stranexus mate the BIOS I cannot see if it is but suspect it is EUFI? if so my Asus P8Z77 -V board that does have it one can control the fan speeds from within that (the BIOS). I cannot remember which settings they are in and I am away from that machine right now.

It might be worth a Google to see how to set the fan speeds on that board just out of curiosity.
