    Windows Defender Process Explorer?

Anyone know where the the process explorer that was in the Vista version went? I'm trying to stop a few things at start-up that Msconfig can't stop. I've looked but can't seem to find it or a similar function

    Hi Smarteyeball,

Interesting that MS has removed that from Windows Defender. It appears it's going to go strictly as a anti-spyware program now.

You might check in the registry at the locations below to see if the startup item is listed there to delete.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    and

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks Shawn, I completely forgot to check the registry

It's a pity that they removed that ability from Defender. It was a quick and easy way to kill unwanted start up apps. Fingers crossed it makes a re-appearance somewhere :)

You're welcome Smarteyeball. Hopefully MS will have it included somewhere else to make doing it easier by the final release of Windows 7.
