    PC shuts off by itself.

    Hi,

When I turn on my desktop PC it shuts off by itself after just a few seconds and then turns on again for a few seconds....and then continue doing this on-off cycle until I pull the cable out.

But sometimes it turns on and stays on without any issues.

Has anyone experienced anything like this.......?

    Thanks,

    System spec.....?

The PC is not at my place, I am trying to help an elderly relative and he is nowhere near me.

I cannot even ask him to download "TeamViewer".

But I was hoping that someone may recognize the symptoms of his PC problem.

    Thanks,

Well it could be a number of things. One being a bad power supply. We would need to know the hardware that's in the computer.

May caused by the tower button, test the power button on the front of your computer's case. if it is not work for you, reseat everything inside of your computer. Reseat all internal data and power cables, memory modules, expansion cards. Unplug and reattach your keyboard and mouse as well.

Based on the system info this PC is from around 2010.

I will have to go over and re-seat all the components I can find.

How do I test for faulty Start Button......?

You should check your Temperature. Try this free program, Speccy if you can keep it going long enough to do the test. https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard Give us a screen shot of all of them.
