    Desktop Icons - Hide or Show Toggle Key


    Is there a way I can have this function toggle via a programmed keyboard key or shortcut?

    There's a software for that:
    HideDesktopIcons: hide and unhide desktop icons with a single click - freewaregenius.com

    I think you can assign keyboard shortcut.

    I don't think that solution is possible.
    I know that by editing some reg keys you can hide/show icons,but I don't know is there a reg script that will automate this process.

    Thx - I noticed you had also added a youtube vid link and I checked it out. It was interesting but the relative solutions were two step (hide & show) methodology and not a true 'toggle'.

    (I got it to work via the 'compatibility' attributes)

    Update : just stumbled upon another app called Fences by Stardock (free and very small footprint). It has a feature that toggles the desktop icons on/off with a simple double-clik on the desktop itself. Can't get no simpler than that (short of voice command, heh).
