How hot is the air coming out of the machine?
TBH it's not that warm that it's 2 hot I could hold my hand there no problem and the bottom is warm not crazy hot.this dell e6430 I have using it looks nearly new with few scratches on the lid other than that it's class. I pulled the back off it and keyboard looked around the fan and it's clean. Pity dell did not make the fan separate from the heatsink so easy to take off without the heatsink

I agree but even at 70c it's running within it bios settings between 65c and 85c very weird yes,
If it's in warranty send it back tell them it's really a space heater.

I received one too once it was unbearable to use.
Do u think if I get on the dell chat will they send me software to set fan speeds myself. Did u ever think the twin cooler upgrade is a great idea
Actually I think sending it back is a great idea :)
Upgrading the cooler is if you are stuck with it.

This doesn't add up. If the unit is running hot the case should reflect that. And if the fan is doing its job the exhaust air should reflect the heat. It may be that your sensors are messed up, or the bios.

The fins must be thoroughly clean. The fan must be spinning freely. The thermal paste has to be good. Those are the basics. Having the right drivers - and not having ghost drivers - can help. Having enough RAM can keep the HD cool. An SSD will keep temps down a little.

i loaded on the new bios on this and its got 8gb ram and a sandisk extreme pro 480gb new ssd.i took it apart and cleaned the fans myself i even did a dell test on the fan with back off and keyboard up so i can see it spins great with no noise.im sorta thinking my last call is new cpu paste and then god knows.the guy sold me this laptop told me the laptop is serviced and dont need that as all has done to it new cpu paste as well.as i bought it from him and he seemed really sound.also yep the bottom of the base is cool to touch all good there 2 just those numbers puts me off

If the cpu is hot, but nothing else, it could mean the paste job got messed up.

might try that all right.i was chatting with dell no software to make fan go faster and any 3rd party software wont work.i was thinking what if i soldered into the main board beside the power jack a fan control and connect the fan up to that

Four possibilities. The heatsink is not receiving the heat, the cpu or its sensors is defective, the motherboard is not reporting correctly, or the bios is defective. A repaste will eliminate the first, a known-good replacement cpu the second. You could try a dif bios version for the last. And that leaves the third.
