Windows 7 Taskbar Grouping Help!
Hello,
I've read all over the internet and for some reason everyone keep saying that in Windows 7, you cannot "ungroup" the open programs on the taskbar that have the same program ID? I'm not talking about the "combining" option which can be easily enabled/disabled in the taskbar options. I'm talking about when you have 2 Chrome browsers open, they're stuck together side by side on the taskbar.
It puzzles me because since the first day I got my laptop, I had always been able to move my programs on the taskbar wherever and however I wanted. If I have 2 Chrome windows open, I can move them individually. I'm wondering perhaps these older posts were outdated. I have Windows 7 with SP1, perhaps SP1 gave us more taskbar features?
Now here's my problem. I've always been able to move different instances of the same program individually on the taskbar, but all of the sudden now they don't work and are stuck together. I was doing some cleaning and might've deleted something. I'm trying to restore it. I'm hoping it would just be a registry tweak. If it was something I deleted, where can I find those files?
I also read about the 7+ Taskbar Tweaker. However, I don't want to use a 3rd party program for something that was already working before. I'm hoping for a way to fix this.
Thank you.
