Windows 7: CBS Log Finding

CBS Log Finding

I have noted the following as a result of not being able to copy from cmd.exe to notepad.exe:
Copy/paste does not work between these two applications on Windows 7 Pro-32 Bit. (Right click in cmd window, select all and then Control C. In notepad, Control V).
Curiously, this function does work on Windows 7 Home Premium.
I was trying to copy the output of ipconfig /all to Notepad to save as a text file for e-mail attachment to an outside party assisting me with a Linux networking issue.
I was able to find a workaround which required typing the following at the command line in cmd.exe - ipconfig /all >c:ipconfig.txt
Also curious, cut/paste seems to work on all my other Windows app, ie from browser to e-mail etc. and also from within Windows apps, ie select text, then Control C and place cursor somewhere else and Control V.
I ran sfc /scannow at the cmd.exe command prompt and a CBS log file was generated which I have attached.
The problem is with the rdpclip.exe and rdpclip.exe.mui files which is noted at the end of this file.
Is there a way to resolve this without having to go through this: Repair Install
I look forward to a response on the above.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your system nor is there any difference between home premium. You actually don't need to CTRL+C, in fact that's the problem. Just right click in CMD and select Select All, press ENTER on the keyboard, then PASTE (CTRL V) into notepad. Try that.

Thanks for the prompt response-you're right, that works fine.

Simple solution to what I thought was a complex problem.

Curious though that I could Select All in the cmd.exe window in Windows 7 Home Premium and then Ctrl-C, open Notepad and type Ctrl-V.

Onwards and upwards...

Glad I could help! I mean, you could be right about the differences, I just don't have a way of testing. I also couldn't think of a logical reason why Microsoft would do that but then again you never know, it's microsoft :)
