Windows won't boot even in safe mode

    Remind me how you got the key - with a keyfinder program ?? - If yes, then you are dealing with a generic key that has been used for thousands of systems and is useless for you.

    Hmm, then the only other cause of the message I can think of is that you try to install a version that does not exactly correspond to the key. Else it should work.

    Have you owned this laptop since new or did you buy it second hand? What version of Windows 7 is your COA sticker for?

    Yes, I owned the laptop since new.
    It says Windows 7 Home Prem OA.

    The recovery partition also does not work (freezes).
