Cannot Remove an Icon From Desktop

Usually when you have single files that you can't delete use Unlocker. It's compatible with both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows. Install it, and in the right click menu a Unlock will appear while right clicking a file. Click that and from there you'll know what to do.

But take care, prior doing this, assure that the file you are erasing will not affect other programs or OS behaviors.
