    Need find a file copied from one location to another if forgot name


    Hi,
    win7 pro 64bit
    I was in a picture browser and selecte a load of files and copied them to a folder but looking in that folder they are not there, others I did are there, guess I selected the wrong folder that one time.

    Can I do a search on copied files ?

    Try searching the destination drive/folder by "Date modified" (using Windows Explorer).

    Another option would be to install a 3rd party file manager that has a folder comparison tool (like FreeCommander).

    Hi, would date modified aply to just copied files, as opposed to those amended in some small way and saved ?

    I dont the files name by the way

    Sorry my bad.

    I was thinking about File Permissions (they can change depending on whether you copied the files, or moved them).

    The date on the destination folder should have changed when you accidentally copied the files to it.

    I've just tried it on folders that I have created previously.
    If I copied or moved a file to a folder, the "Date Modified" value changed to today's date.
