    System freezes after 2 minutes...

Hoping to find a solution to an annoying problem. About 2 minutes after either "awakening" system or even from a cold boot, whether online or in an app, my system freezes up. The freeze last close to two minutes then (this is remarkable) the system becomes operational with no other issues UNTIL the next time it either goes to sleep or is restarted. Here's a little history:

The unit is an older Dell XPS which has proved to be a really good machine. It's a "gamer" but I'm not - just wanted the best I could afford several years ago when I purchased it (even has the liquid cooler unit). About two weeks ago it just quit, would not boot up. Found the cause to be a full HDD (500G). So I installed a 2TB unit as primary and re-installed Win 7. Graphics were horrible till I discovered I needed to reload Nvidia drivers then display was fine. I really did not operate the PC for very long without the new Nvidia drivers so not sure if the freeze problem was present before the driver installation or not. Don't think it's App related as it happens online and offline - weird that it only occurs once then all okay. Any ideas?

1)If all you have done is change from a 500GB to a 2TB drive then I see no problems. But, some HDDs to go to sleep like the 2TB WD Greens (not a good OS drive but good for backup).

    2) Is the video driver the same as on the 500GB system. If not try the older driver.

    3) Of course check for Malware. (eg. Malwarebytes - free)
