I feel sure this had probably been brought up before but I primarily work daily from my Vista computer located downstairs...just force of habit. Upstairs is a computer less than a year old with Windows7 installed by Dell. It's probably one of the last computer they had for Windows 7.
I don't use that computer daily but will have it on for updates, etc once or twice a week and have noticed last week I keep getting prompted at boot up to upgrade to Windows 10. I haven't checked this week but it l prompted me twice last week. Do you feel this is worthwhile or will it be a pain down the road?
Why? I'm getting dragged through the coals on another forum(not computer related) for not upgrading since it's free and would run all my SW I currently have on W7 and run it faster and would have support from MS for any problems...something that's about to run out for a 7 year old OS like W7.
I just wasn't sure why they were so enthralled about updating to Windows 10 since I had the opportunity. I find W7 a great system and couldn't understand why all the hype about W10. Even though W7 may have a few years on it it's new to me as I just got it about a year and a half back. In fact, best I recall Dell was going to stop offering it as of Oct 2014 and I bought it July since W7 would still be on the one I ordered. I haven't been dissatisfied with it at all.
I asked about it because I don't keep up with computer technology every day...or read about it every month for that matter. Those guys acted like I would be the biggest fool yet to not upgrade the offer but it just didn't make sense to me to do that since I was having zero problems with Windows 7. At any rate, I guess I've got the message.
