IIS Stopped working, Maybe net framework, that won't install either

Hi, my laptop, windows 7, ultimate 32 bit. IIS not working. I suspect it is some net framework issue
But I cannot install net framework, the installation process runs, not showing any error. In the end just showing, net framework was NOT installed. Any ideas? thanks in advance

    Welcome to our forum padhoo.

You need to be more exact in explaining your problem before the good folks here can help.

Your laptop is working because you are trying to install things.
You can't do that if your laptop isn't working.

    What exactly is not working?

Why are you trying to install a net framework?

    Does Windows 7 Update work?

Could you put in your (My System Specs) exactly what laptop you have?

I didn't know what IIS was. Sorry for being so behind on times and things.
I just Googled ISS. Should be interesting thread.

I will let others deal with your problem and I will just watch.

    IIS

    Hi Padhoo,

IIS is not required to be installed, at least on Home premium, for Netframework to run.

You could however try Unchecking/checking both Netframework/IIS.

    REBOOT

    see if that works

    What I want is IIS,

What I am primarily looking for is to restore IIS, so that I can test some old classic ASP sites. I suspect net framework is causing IIS to misbehave. That is why I tried to reinstall netframework. But re-installation/repair of netframework NEVER succeeds. Yes, IIS and netframework are CHECKED in windows-components on-off interface in the control panel. No effect.
