    Reset Windows 7 Professional Password

I've started working at a place that has a Windows 7 Professional PC with two accounts: A guest and an administrator account in the name of a guy who used to work there. No one knows the password of the administrator account.

So I created a Ubuntu bootable USB to reset the password. However, the BIOS (MegaTrends 2008) doesn't permit me to boot from a USB.

If I hit F8 it doesn't offer me the safe mode option. How can I reset the administrator password?

Does it have a cd/dvd drive, just put it on that.

There`s no way to enable usb boot in the bios ?

If you just started working there, this issue should really not be your problem, can`t they just re image the machine ?

It's a very small shop with maybe 4 people working here. It does have a DVD drive. I can try putting the image onto a CD. I've already ensured that the DVD drive is the primary boot drive.

I did manage to get it to go to the safe mode with command prompt, but it still asked me for an administrator password.

    Google is your friend :)

There are a zillion boot disk options (with a reset tool) you can download and burn to CD. Here's one How to Reset Your Windows Password Without an Install CD

Yes, I already found your website using Google, and I've read all of your stuff about using sticky keys and crap to hack into CMD as an administrator or how to restart in command line mode and use net user (userid) (newpassword) to reset the account.

None of it works. I need a real solution from a real expert, please.

I use option five from this tutorial:
User Account - Reset Password in Windows 7

For the old computer that you are dealing with, I would suggest the "Previous release" CD:

Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor

If - for some reason - that method fails or is too confusing for you, try this method:
