    Vista PC and Win10

PC is Dell Precision M6300; 64 bit; 17" screen; running Win7 ultimate. All software run; even old XP programs. Will everything run in Win10?

There`s only one way to find out, you have to run the advisor, we here have no clue what machine will run Windows 10, you have to research it.

We are a Windows 7 help forum :)

With that said, I would install 10 on a separate drive and see how it goes.

    Download Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor

Should I upgrade to Windows 10? Is Win 10 better than Windows 7, 8.1? - Feature - PC Advisor

I am running 10 Pro on a 2009 Gateway Vista machine, not 1 issue.

I haven't found anything that ran on my 7 installation to not run on my 10. I suppose there ARE some programs that might not .... but I haven't had any problems at all with anything, and I do use some older programs too. There's always "compatibility mode" if you run into anything that has trouble. We have a Sister forum for any Win10 problems : Windows 10 Forums

Thanx for your reply. Because, I believe, I cannot undo a Win 10 installation. I need to know, in advance, if 100% will run. This is old hardware and not all the drivers may up date. I tried fixit and it fails.

Why would you think you couldn`t go back to windows 7, you have 30 days to look over 10 before you loose the option to go back to 7.

2 weeks should be more then enough for you to decide if you want to keep 10.

You should not jeopardize your windows 7 install, try 10 in a virtual machine or buy a small 120/128 GB ssd to try 10 on.

There may not be any video drivers for it, you have to run the upgrade adviser.

Júst as a bit of insurance. Create a backup of your existing system with Macrium Reflect then if things go wrong and you want to revert to Win 7 then the backup will restore your machine to the original Win 7 setup.
