    How to make a folder and its file REALLY hidden in windows?


    Since the other thread was closed.. I'm re-formulating my question : How to make a folder and its file REALLY hidden in windows? Which means it doesn't show when you tick "show system/hidden files"? By an app or anything else.. Please tell me if you know

    Put it on an external drive and disconnect that drive.

    There is no such thing as a "super-hidden" files.
    The only method Windows supports is the hidden file attribute, and it's nothing more than a toy for not showing files in Explorer, but as you point, everything can see the contents if they really want to.

    The correct approach would be to use file-system permissions to grant you access and deny to everyone else, so you are the only one allowed to touch that file. Each user profile is by default private to that user. For further protection, you should look at encryption tools or even full-disk encryption, of course with a strong password.
